The Power of One

Does this sound familiar?
I’d like to exercise but I just can’t get motivated.
First of all, if you break down this sentence, it’s a self fulfilling prophecy. The second part of it says, “I just can’t get motivated”. Your mind thinks in pictures. So when you say you can or you say you can’t you’re giving your mind a picture of the end result.
Motivation comes from action. Believe me, there are many times when I don’t “feel” like exercising. Even though my system only takes 15 minutes, sometimes it seems like a lot if I’m tired or not in the mood.
Here’s an easy and effective way to get motivated that works like magic.
First, change into your exercise clothes. Something loose and unrestricting.
Then tell yourself you’re going to do one repetition of one exercise. It could be one push-up, one squat, one lunge. Once you do one, it’s virtually impossible NOT to do another. Your mind won’t let you stop with just one.
Before you know it, you’re into your workout, burning fat and the 15 minutes will be over in no time.
